As Kenya continues its transition journey toward government-led systems, ensuring continuity of care remains a key priority. During this reporting period, Ciheb-Kenya supported this agenda through the handover of ICT equipment to Machakos and Nairobi Counties (PACT Imara and CONNECT programs), an investment aimed at reinforcing digital health systems at the facility level and improving service delivery across the two counties.

She highlighted the importance of PACT Imara program’s support in advancing digitization efforts that will enhance efficiency and service delivery across health facilities.

The ICT package handed over to Machakos County through Ciheb-Kenya’s PACT Imara program included desktops, laptops, tablets, and desktop monitors to support improved data management, reporting, and service delivery within health facilities.

In Nairobi County, the handover ceremony (held on Thursday 26th March 2026) was marked alongside the launch of the Integrated Sample Referral System (ISRS), a framework designed to strengthen sample referral pathways and improve the use of real-time data for clinical decision-making. During the event, the county officials also received 2 vehicles, a truck and motorbikes to support implementation and enhance service delivery operations.

As Kenya advances its transition under G2G frameworks, these investments are critical in ensuring that gains achieved over the years are not only maintained but further strengthened. When we invest in digital technology, this means more than just physical infrastructure. For patients, this translates into shorter waiting time, improved continuity of care, and more accurate health records. For providers on the other hand, it enables timely access to real-time data to support informed clinical decision-making. At the governance level, this enhances planning, improves decision making and strengthens accountability.

As transition efforts continue, Ciheb-Kenya remains a key partner in safeguarding and building on the gains made over the years. Through close collaboration with county governments and support from PEPFAR and CDC, Ciheb-Kenya is reinforcing health system resilience during this critical period of change. Ultimately, Ciheb-Kenya’s work continues to underscore a simple truth: strong, well-supported systems are the foundation of sustainable and equitable health outcomes.
