Technical Assistance to Ready and Accelerate Capacities of Public Health Programs in Kenya (TRACK)” is funded to strengthen the framework that supports COVID-19 vaccine preparedness, with the overall objective being to provide support for coordinated preparation and implementation of COVID-19 vaccination by building capacity at the national level and in designate counties.

TRACK program provides technical assistance to the MOH through the National Vaccine and Immunization Program (NVIP) in collaboration with multilateral partners for COVID-19 vaccine preparedness, disease prevention, and surveillance. Further, it supports 14 counties (Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nyeri, Kisii, Homa Bay, Busia, Kakamega, Muranga, Machakos, Makueni, Migori, Kiambu, and Siaya counties) to coordinate the rollout of the vaccine in their respective sub-counties and facilities.

TRACK Program objectives are:

  1. Provide support at the national level for coordinated preparation and implementation of COVID-19 vaccination
  2. To strengthen county health systems to scale-up COVID-19 vaccination uptake in 14 priority counties
  3. Enhance demand creation for COVID-19 vaccination uptake through supporting advocacy communication and social mobilization (ACSM)
  4. Support the national COVID-19 vaccine reporting and monitoring system
  5. Strengthen reporting and monitoring of COVID-19 adverse events following immunization (AEFI
  6. To enhance county ownership and oversight of COVID-19 vaccination activities
