Dr. Peter Kyalo

Dr. Peter Kyalo is a medical doctor and public health specialist with more than 10 years’ experience in implementation of PEPFAR/CDC funded HIV programs with various local and international organizations in Kenya. He is a holder of a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery Degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Master of Science in Public Health Candidate at JKUAT.
Dr. Kyalo has implemented health programs in multiple counties in Kenya and worked with diverse teams of healthcare providers strengthening health systems for quality healthcare.
Dr. Kyalo is working with the county governments of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui planning and implementing HIV and TB services for general, key and priority populations towards epidemic control. He oversees a multidisciplinary team of 60 program staff in three offices, supporting 227 facilities and providing HIV treatment for approximately 66,000 individuals on antiretroviral therapy.
HIV is a chronic disease, requiring lifelong antiretroviral treatment—and local systems that can manage HIV prevention, care, and treatment over the long term.
