Dr. Caroline Ngeno serves as the Project Director for KENPHIA II, providing overall programmatic, technical leadership, and managerial oversight for Kenya’s second locally led Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (PHIA) project. KENPHIA II aims to evaluate Kenya’s progress towards achieving HIV epidemic control 20 years post-PEPFAR, with data informing future HIV program implementation across the country.
Dr. Ngeno has been pivotal in providing strategic leadership and direction for country operations, planning, implementation, monitoring, and managing donor-funded projects and programs. As a former Country Director, she oversaw PEPFAR-funded programs delivering comprehensive quality HIV Prevention, Care, and Treatment services in select counties and led the transition of University of Maryland Baltimore programs to Ciheb-Kenya. Her extensive experience includes stakeholder and government engagement and supporting the expansion of high-quality, sustainable, and comprehensive HIV programs under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
