Ciheb Kenya Hosts PEPFAR Interagency Team to discuss strategies for enhanced HIV Service Models for Key Populations

Ciheb-Kenya was honored to host a high-level delegation from The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Interagency team at the Manyatta Drop-in Center and Medically Assisted Therapy (MAT) Clinic in the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu. The delegation included representatives from the CDC headquarters, CDC Kenya, USAID Kenya, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
Empowering Vulnerable Communities: Targeted Outreach for PWIDs, including Comprehensive TB Screening, in Nairobi

People who inject drugs (PWIDs) or use illicit drugs are disproportionately affected by HIV, viral hepatitis, TB, and other infectious diseases. In Kenya, the prevalence of HIV among PWIDs is approximately 18.7%, which is a significant public health challenge. Additionally, PWIDs face numerous barriers, including stigma, discrimination, and poor health-seeking behavior, which hinder their access to essential healthcare services.
